ABOUT THE EVENT

This conference, run as part of L&Ws work as UK National Coordinator for the EAAL and delivered jointly with EPALE UK, provides an opportunity to discuss the evidence on the impact of adult learning and consider what a lifelong learning approach could offer.

What does the international evidence say?
What is the impact of adult learning on health, employment, and community engagement?
What can we learn from each other's approaches and those from other parts of Europe?
What should a lifelong learning strategy or strategies look like in the context of devolution?

Through a series of keynote speeches, seminars, workshops and information sessions, L&W, the Forum for Adult Learning Northern Ireland, Scotland's Learning Partnership, and L&W Cymru will provide:

Inputs from a range of international partners including national coordinators from across Europe, UNESCO, the European Association for the Education of Adults
Workshops on the impact of adult learning on health, employment, and communities, and demographic change.
Updates from the four Impact Forums established across the four UK administrations: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales
Inputs from EPALE UK about how adult information on adult learning can be shared across providers, practitioners and policy makers
Learners' voices about how adult learning has made a difference to their lives

This is a participatory event; to get the best experience before, during and after the conference, we encourage and welcome your contributions to the discussions.

The two-day event will include a dinner at the conference venue, Westminster Kingsway College.

In the lead up the conference, EPALE UK will be publishing a series of blog posts linked to the key workshop themes of health, communities, work and integrated approaches with opportunities to comment and engage through a dedicated conference Community of Practice.

Please note this is a free conference by personal invitation only.  There is no support available for travel or subsistence costs.
